FAQ'S

What is IV hydration therapy?

IV hydration therapy is a common, low risk treatment used by doctors, nurses, paramedics, to rehydrate the body intravenously. It bypasses the gut, and is the fastest most efficient way to deliver fluids to vital organs throughout the body.

How does IV hydration work?

IV hydration delivers a combination of saline solutions, vitamins, electrolytes, and medications through a catheter inserted into the vein that infuses the solutions directly into the bloodstream. The ingredients in the infusion are specific to one’s health needs.

Are IV hydration therapies safe?

Yes, vitamin IV therapy has been practiced for decades and people have been receiving them for almost 200 years. If there are any questions, they can be answered prior to service or during your treatment.

What if I take vitamins and drink plenty of water?

IV infusions are faster and more effective than oral supplements and medications. Water and vitamins ingested orally have to be digested and absorbed into the bloodstream before they can to be effective. Age, activity, illness, malabsorption issues, stress, and previous gastric surgeries can have an influence on how well the body can absorb supplements and medications when taken orally, Also, drinking alcohol slows the absorption process which is why oral hangover treatments are ineffective.

The body uses the maximum amount of what it needs and then excretes the rest for maximum effect. Since IV hydrations are delivered directly into the bloodstream it becomes immediately available for the cells in the body, and greatly decreases the time it takes for medications or supplements to take effect.

How can I pay for Infusion therapy?

IV hydration therapies are not covered under private insurances, Medicare, or Medicaid. It is an out of pocket expense.

How often should I get an infusion?

Typical protocols are weekly for 4 weeks then monthly but can be given as a one-time infusion.

Can glutathione be given in the IV?

Glutathione is best given as an IV push or IM, not mixed in an infusion bag.

What is an isotonic solution?

Relative to blood in the body, and the safest and preferred osmolarity range.

What is a Hypotonic solution?

Hypotonic Fluid shifts from blood vessels into cells; hydration. Less than 145 mOsm/L is absolutely contraindicated due to severe hemolysis and shock.

What is a Hypertonic solution?

Fluid that shifts from the cells into the vasculature structure. Hypertonic solutions should be infused slowly at 1-4 ml/minute as its more irritating to the veins, dehydrating.
